Our Story

The Vineyard

Perched in the foothills of Oregon’s Coast Range within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Evening Sky Vineyard is defined by its elevation, distinctive soils, and extraordinary nighttime skies. The vineyard climbs from approximately 650 feet to nearly 1,000 feet, where cool evening temperatures, coastal influences, and a blend of ancient marine sedimentary and Jory soils create an exceptional environment for growing expressive, site-driven wines.

The estate was planted in 2022 with a deliberate selection of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay clones chosen to reflect the character of this remarkable hillside. Pinot Noir includes Dijon clones 115, 667, and 777 alongside the historic Coury Clone, while Chardonnay is planted to Dijon clones 76 and 95. In 2025, Evening Sky Vineyard became one of the first vineyards in Oregon to plant Voltis, reflecting our belief that innovation and stewardship are essential to the future of fine wine.

The name Evening Sky Vineyard was inspired by what unfolds after sunset. With little light pollution in the Coast Range foothills, the stars and planets shine with remarkable clarity, creating a nightly reminder of the beauty, perspective, and sense of place that define our vineyard. That connection to the landscape—and the sky above it—is reflected in every bottle we produce.

How We Farm

We believe exceptional wines begin with thoughtful farming. Every decision we make in the vineyard is guided by a long-term commitment to the health of our land, the surrounding ecosystem, and the quality of the fruit it produces.

Evening Sky Vineyard is proudly LIVE Certified and Salmon-Safe Certified, reflecting our commitment to responsible, science-based viticulture and the protection of Oregon’s natural resources. We farm according to organic principles and are on the path to organic certification.  Our vineyard is farmed in partnership with Results Partners, whose expertise in precision viticulture and sustainable farming aligns with our philosophy of careful stewardship and uncompromising quality.

Stewardship extends beyond the vines. Our onsite honeybee hives are managed in partnership with Best Bees, supporting healthy pollinator populations while helping us better understand the biodiversity and health of our vineyard ecosystem. Together, these efforts help create a thriving landscape where vines, wildlife, and native plants flourish.

Our approach is deliberate, with every decision guided by a commitment to stewardship and every wine crafted exclusively from estate-grown fruit. By caring for the vineyard today with the future in mind, our goal is to leave the land healthier than we found it while crafting wines that faithfully reflect this remarkable hillside.

Our Story

Our journey to Evening Sky Vineyard began with a shared passion for exceptional wines and the experiences that bring people together around the table.

That passion led us to Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where we fell in love with more than the wines. We were captivated by the region’s breathtaking beauty, vibrant culinary culture, and the collaborative spirit of its wine community. What began as frequent visits soon grew into a vision: to create an estate vineyard of our own and contribute to this remarkable place.

Planted in 2022, Evening Sky Vineyard was built with intention from the ground up. Our backgrounds as engineers shaped the way we approached every decision – from selecting vineyard clones and embracing sustainable farming practices  to carefully stewarding the land.  Precision, curiosity, and patience remain at the heart of everything we do.

The name Evening Sky Vineyard reflects one of our favorite features of the property. Nestled in the Coast Range foothills, far from city lights, the stars and planets shine with remarkable clarity each evening. Those quiet moments remind us why we chose this place and inspire the wines we are honored to share.

We are grateful to be a part of Oregon’s extraordinary wine community and look forward to sharing Evening Sky Vineyard with you.
